i was thinking of breeding platys tho that might be betta

That would be fine, but as someone before suggested, convics would probably be best. More babies and a more rewarding experience because the parents are more personable.

if you want something easie to breed then go with gambish because in ga temp is a big diff in winter and summer. it must be nice to live in blue ridge i love to live forthe fly fishing some good areas

yeah its awesome hear i just moved hear from NY so i didnt even DO ANY FISHIN YEtt (i need to go check some good spots and prepare for the good fishin my father in law raves about the trout fishing so i cannnot wait

head on up to the blue ridge dam best there, and give aplican(sp) a call they tell ya everything you need to know about fishing up tht

Start off with ten 6qt (shoebox) sterilite/rubbermaid tubs and make a foam filter for each and two better dual output air pumps. Great some local pond weeds (foxtail, hornwart etc.), something for the fry to hide in and corral it to one end of the tub. Place a piece of broken clay flower pot in the clear side so the female has a place to hide/lay eggs or young.

Start growing some fry food (green water/infusoria, microworms etc.).

Use 8 of the tubs for breeding and 2 for the fry as soon as you can move them.

The above system works with all your minnow varieties and convicts too.

Also if you do a little searching around here you'll find several good threads on raising feeders.

but thats y i wanna breeed fish for my fish and for bait

I would just get a casting net. For your fish, just go out anytime, and for fishing, collect the night before and go fishing in the morning. There should be some great collecting creeks all over GA.
