The Brazilian aspect was all I could come up with. But seriously 1st punch that touched him rolled his eyes back. The he regained whatever wits he could and then instantly got put to sleep. Stipe could have immediately gone and fought someone else. He didn't even break a sweat. So who does he fight next?

Is anyone else as irritated by how much say-so champs have as far as who the "want" to fight. Between that and the complaining about their pay. If you're not happy with the numbers then don't sign the contract.

But seriously Jones is hardcore ducking Gus

I agree with you mostly. like 99%

but I do feel that champs who have put in the years and years of hard work can, to a certain degree, choose who to fight next or fight first.

like gsp and Anderson,......... I feel to a degree they can choose who to fight if there were 2-3 contenders. but only to a degree. at some point there is a clear #1 contender and the champ should fight them. I don't think jones has been around long enough to choose though. but I believe he'll rematch gus.

yea, great job diego, great job at getting a win he didn't deserve

pearson got robbed even though I wanted to see diego win. even the commentators were like, wtf was that bs decision?

diego called out nick diaz. that would be a fun fight but nick diaz isn't coming back to fight someone on Diego's level. but I hope i'm wrong and would like to see the rematch. unfortunately at this point in Diego's career he'd get lit up by diaz. he's not the machine he used to be

I missed the main card, but the the different play by plays I read had it Pearson 30-27. So I'm guessing it was terrible. Dana said that the NSAC was going to reevaluate their process of approving judges. They finally agreed that these decisions were getting out of hand. So it should get better in the next year or 2.

Diego landed more big punches and was more active and going forward with kicks. Pearson, like Machita, just sat back waiting to counter. Your not going to win a decision fight like that because people want to see exciting all out fighting. If you want that decision lane point fighting- go watch boxing. It was a close fight but I feel Diego was the more aggressive fighter. Pearson got 2nd round and Diego got 1&3. Neither was impressive but at least Diego was trying to finish the fight and Pearson wasn't.

Lol I literally read sherdog, bloody elbow, MMAjunkie and a few others. Not one of these people who do this for a living had Pearson winning 1 round. The basis for the judging isn't "Who is the most exciting fighter." There is a tad more to it than that. Take a look at the stats from the fight. Once again I haven't seen the fight, and will watch it tonight. But Diego Sanchez is mentally insane, so if he thinks he won that's all I need to know.

diego somehow getting a draw would be a miracle in his favor. at least a 29-28 for diego would be a tiny tiny bit arguable. but the judge who gave it 30-27 to diego needs to seriously never judge mma again.

I understand ultimate jay is a diego fan, but the vast majority of mma fans can be unbiased when watching their favorite fighters fight.

if I was a huge diego fan, I wouldn't celebrate last night's victory. he was gifted a win.

diego was like a walrus plodding forward, trying desperately to get something going for him, all while telegraphing everything, even trying some flashy moves and getting tagged by a technically superior striker.

I will say pearson could've and should've done more to take a bigger lead and make a stronger statement and take more risks but he clearly won the fight.

diego beat the crap out of air though, that's mostly what he was hitting. he landed like roughly 30 significant strikes out of 130 thrown. pearson landed more strikes and threw less.

it's kind of sad to see diego fight now. he really has fell off, I remember his takedowns and ground and pound were top notch. but now he's a fraction of that fighter he used to be. he couldn't take down a one legged midget at this point
