here's diego sanchez doing an impersonation of james toney

seriously though, on diego, i'm disappointed in him because he had a lot of potential but he got a little cash and fame from the ultimate fighter and he wasted it away smoking herb and getting drunk

now the sport has passed him by

poor jon fitch too. the guy was on a long winning streak and deserved more title shots than just the one. as soon as he showed a hint of slowing down they cut his ass. but then he goes to wsof and gets choked the eff out in his first fight after getting cut from the ufc

wrestling had nothing to do with the victory, duh

takedowns weren't even a factor, he didn't even go for take downs till later in the fight, duh

thought I posted early about this, but guess I didn't hit send...

Watched a few Michael Page fights and yeah, definitely crosses my boundaries. He said after one fight that he means no disrespect and that's just his fighting style, but I don't buy it.

I am a big Sanchez fan, too, but I feel the same way. He still puts on amazing fights, though, even if the game has passed him by. However, if that's what he chose to do with his life, then that's his choice.

Was surprised by TJ...not surprised by Cormier.

Just a heads up that the Munoz vs Mousasi card this Saturday starts at 12pm PT. The prelims start at 9:30am PT I think.

Also, I found this funny. I'm not a Jones hater, but I really like Gustaffson.

EDIT: I didn't realize that there are actually 2 UFC events on Saturday. Munoz vs Mousasi early in Germany and after that is Miocic vs Maldonado in Brazil at the regular times.

I am still confused by that miocec fight. I get that they had to replace JDS but what does beating an undersized 205er at HW really do for his career? It seemed like globetrotter type exhibition match on fast forward.

it was just to save the main event. it doesn't hurt him but it doesn't move him forward either. but they had to do something that will make sense and save the main event. Maldonado is a guy who is loved in brazil for his style and heart. they needed to draw in butts to fill seats

but I am confused too about how they couldn't find another heavyweight since jds was hurt a while ago. maybe they couldn't find a Brazilian heavyweight so they went with a guy who was known for taking a beating and keeps on ticking.

problem was they didn't anticipate the fight ending so quick. you can't be a guy who is willing to take a few shots to get one, at 205 and expect to do it against the heavy hitters at heavyweight. Miocic was a horrible matchup for Maldonado. he always takes clean shots, takes damage in every fight. not a good thing to move up in weight to face guys with crisp striking

it's another testament as to how great those few are who move up in weight and find success
