Again a pointless argument. He destroyed Hendo @85 and soon after Hendo was in title contention @205. He destroyed Ace twice. Who was absolutely in his prime and running the division at the time. He destroyed Belfort, pretty sure he is still a Top 3 guy @85.
Who has Jones fought? A well past his prime shogun, a machida who has since dropped to 85, rashad and rampage in their twilight, the same Belfort that Silva destroyed almost broke his arm. The same Sonnen that Silva beat twice. The only talent on par with him was GUS and that was a close war that he barely edged out
What about GSP? Who did he fight that was top level competition? Most of his fight could be dismissed as fighters past their prime. Heck he got KO'd by matt serra! Who else did serra actually beat?
Cain? Johnson? Aldo? Who have any of these guys fought? Is Jon Jones not a true champ because he won't cut down to fight Aldo?
All of you examples are 100% generic and could be made about every single UFC fighter.

How can Ace be in his prime and then retire after the second fight? I'm sorry but if you're in your prime you don't retire or quite after one or two losses. What the heck are you guys dreaming up here! Get a clue! I agree with you one Jones and although GSP is not one of my favorite fighters because he doesn't try and finish fights, he did fight many young good guys like Koscheck and my favorite fighter Diego Sanchez to name just a few. All I'm saying is that I don't think Silva fought the best of the best in their prime and he's a cocky disrespectful fighter in the ring. I don't know why people like him other than people like you two who like whoevers on top with a good record.

PS franklin had 9 fights AFTER the 2nd Silva fight going 5-4. So that is 5 wins against quality UFC competition. Franklin was 22-1 when they 1st fought and was on a 8 fight win streak. He was 24-2 when they fought the 2nd time. Don't underplay Rich, he was a beast back then.

first of all, koscheck although was ranked in the top ten in his division at one point but was never going to be champ ever. a wrestler turned striker who wasn't as good a striker as he thought he was. still young but washed up
second, diego sanchez, a guy who will also never be champ and is young but washed up already
