Not being comfortable with something isn't a good enough reason for me to want to wipe it off the face of the earth. That type of thinking and teaching has lead to mass oppression.

My mind is blown that someone can sit there with a straight face and say women can't compete with another women in a sport because they're a woman. Or label something a man's sport: this isn't a feminist speech. I just don't understand why you wouldn't support any of your children in their passions and hobbies. I would do anything to help my step daughter be successful in her passions.

Where does this thinking of you can't do this because you're a girl come from? Religion? It's just always been this way? no real reason?

I still don't know what rock means by "do woman stuff" or "be a lady". What does it mean? aside from things they aren't physically strong enough to do (no different then a man of small stature or a young boy may not be able to do), they're able to do EVERYTHING you can do. I can even understand saying I'm not attractive to these type of women but they should invent their own sport or stop being in "men sports" despite being in a women's division ? Hahahaha get out of here with your hate mongering

As I said earlier, I don't care if they keep Invicta, it's not something I would pay to see (or watch for free).
Fighting is a mans sport, in my opinion. I think some things in this world are gender specific. I wouldn't watch male cheerleaders, let alone buy the PPV, that would be strange. Part of it, I'm sure is because of my up bringing. I don't like to see girls get punched out; that's not entertaining to me. I also don't think that women are built for violence. If I was doing the dishes and my lady was chopping wood, I wouldn't hesitate to tell her to do the dishes and I'll chop the wood. She can do the work, but why would she if I'm there to do it? It just makes sense to me. My body is made to do physical things that, even though she can do them, she's not really suited for. I've seen very few girl fights recently, but when was the last spinning head kick KO, the last superman punch KO, or just a one punch KO. Women typically win by decision, then submission, rarely a TKO and never a straight KO. They simply can't perform like the men do in my opinion. I'm all for women having the knowledge though.
I worked a fight where one girl was just chopped up and bleeding everywhere. It should have been stopped, but it went to a decision and the girl who lost was bawling. It was weird and no one was applauding. The crowd new that something wasn't right about it. We've seen guys cry in the octagon before, but not wailing. It was uncomfortable.
You say that you would support your step-daughter. Even if her goal was to make it to the UFC? Even after multiple surgeries and being concussed a dozen times? She could suffer these injuries just through intense training and be 20-0, but would you still be 100% behind her. Machidas father tried to get him to retire after his KO loss to Shogun. That was his first KO loss. It can't be easy to watch your kid get laid out. Joe Rogan went hard on Schaub when he was telling him to retire.
I said that "I'd rather see men fight and women be women". My comment and "be a lady" mean that women should be feminine; not masculine.
Feminine - Having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness.
Masculine - Having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with men, especially strength and aggressiveness.
Women should act like ladies, and punching people in the face isn't very lady-like. I don't know about inventing their own sports, but making dinner sounds appropriate haha.
I may just be a little old fashioned, but it all makes sense in my brain.

I'm Where I'm At
damn, yall got eddie's feminist side out prancing around like a birthday girl at her princess party

my thought is, if grown adult women wanna sign up to compete in a fight, who am I to tell them what they can/should or can't/shouldn't do? if it fails to catch on and wmma dies, then so be it. if it catches on and becomes successful then more power to them. just like there are women versions of other combat sports (or any sport for that matter), it should be no different for mma. we should allow the opportunity if they want it.

my problem isn't that you guys don't care for it. my problem is that if it was up to you, you'd do away with it altogether. I say let them decide. it's not my nose or bones being broken. it doesn't affect me. if someone else wants it, let them have at it. I seriously doubt any of my girls would do it. I wouldn't want it for them, but ultimately they could if they really wanted to.

Bottles, if I cared about the health and safety aspect of it, it'd apply to both my daughter and son, not JUST my daughter. I'm not buying that women aren't built to fight or do physical activity. I don't see it any different then how super heavy weights are different then light weights? Since the tactics and physical abilities are different...should we eliminate one or the other? I don't see how this is any different then a weight class or division you don't particularly enjoy watching. Cuz that's all it is another division. You wouldn't wish for those men to go find something else to do just because you don't like watching it...or would you? Or does he have more of a right because he's a man?

Men and women are built differently. This was talked about quite a bit in regards to Falon Fox. Men have denser bones, larger joints, stronger tendons, etc. of women the same size. This is also why it's different than HW and LW men; they're still built like men. I don't much care for the 125lbs men division, but seeing guys fight doesn't bother me, as long as they're talented.

How about Laila Ali? Piggy backing on her daddies name and undefeated (24-0; 21 KOs). She could have been pushed like Rousey, but this is a mans world.
Laila ali is no ronda

without her last name she wouldn't be known by anyone but some hardcore boxing fans in the states

she is not known for being Laila ali. she is known for being the daughter of an all time great

as far as star power, ronda has surpassed her
Well thats just cause obviously, BOXING IS DEAD!

it's a different sport, different culture, draws men and people in general for different reason altogether

wnba being whack is no indication whatsoever on wmma
The "fundamentals" was a joke stolen from the only Futurama episode I ever saw, about how WNBA can't dunk... but the point still applies

Pushing for women in mma. For what? All us seem to be on the same page as far as agreeing RR, while a star, doesn't add anything to the mechanical side of the sport, and most agree she can't because she's a girl. All you have left is the novelty.
^ and thats the point.

The differences in physical structure would only be significant if you're talking about a woman fighting a man. We're talking about two people of similar structure fighting each other. that's why my comparison of the low end and a high end of a weight class is relevant. It's the same exact thing. The heavyweight clearly have denser bones, larger joints, more muscles etc etc but the attributes differences is only relevant when women are brought up?

Anyways, I don't care for lightweight dudes as I prefer the novelty of seeing large warriors go at it but I wouldn't tell them GTFO mma either (or go invent a new sport like rock's crazy ass). I just don't watch them. That's go get more food, play clash or fast forward time. Yall should do the same instead of demanding women go sit in the corner. How dare they fight each other with their breastesses and hormones and less impressive physical attributes

You make no sense. First you say woman are boring to watch fight because they don't have any knock outs and go to decision. Then you say you don't want to see a girl knock another girl out. LOL

I say let them do what they love to do! No one is forcing them to do this. I would rather see girls punch each other in the face then see some 80lb skinny girl walk the run way.
And to say the don't have the power and strength as a man, well that may be true to a certain extent but I bet you most of them can kick your arse!

We were talking about why women aren't built for fighting. Maybe I misunderstood?
I do go get food when chicks are fighting, but what I was really getting at was PPVs being less intriguing.
I understand the major point that you've been driving at, Eddie. It's not up to me to take away their right to do what they enjoy, but as a paying consumer, I would rather watch men who are, in my opinion, more capable.

I've seen some girls take savage beatings that were ridiculous and I didn't like it. Yes, the majority of their fights are boring. That's just 2 of the reasons why I don't like WMMA.
It's cool if you like buff broads, I'm not big on twiggy ones either.
If I were inclined to hit women, I would take that bet. Why would you even think that for a second? It's silly. I'm 6'3" 210lbs; work out 6 days a week; 6 years kickboxing; 2 years boxing haha. Do you think a 135lbs girl could survive 1 punch? Even if I had never done KB or boxing, the size and strength alone is too big of a gap. It's like, "what would you do if Rousey got on top of you though?". I'd bench press her 25x, get a drink of water and do 3 more sets.
Jessica Eye said in an interview yesterday that a 125lbs man could whoop her, so I'm not sure why I couldn't.

Here's Jessica Eye talking about how female fighters are inferior and she says that they shouldn't be included in the same P4P discussion as men.

I don't think the women should be in the pound-for-pound [rankings]. I really don't. I think we should be in our own division, pound-for-pound.
....
I can train with them and compete with them but no, man," Eye said. "They're men. Come on. Let's not screw up what we know already. Men have testosterone. I go with these 125ers and these guys are fast. If they really wanted to put it on me, they would put it on us. I think they are kind of losing sight of what we already know and that's that they're men.
Why would I want to watch slower and weaker people fight?

You can be 7'6" and weigh 350lbs and bench 1000lbs but if Rousy gets you in an arm bar you'll tap like a biotch.

I like men fights better but I like the woman fights too. I think they are both entertaining and most of the time I see the girls trying more to finish fights and giving it all they got and see many men fighting that just try to get a decision. None of Rousy's fights have been boring that's for sure- quick but not boring.
