Slade (center) eyes the camera and doesn't move. If you're wondering where Mongo is, he's confined to his cave at the back wall. They leave him be as long as he stays in jail. But Mongo being Mongo, he still takes cheap shots at anyone crossing by his log. I have no idea who did what during the takeover, but it was at night (these cichlids always do dirty at night). The next thing I know Mongo's in jail and doesn't even come out to eat. I use the slow sinking pellets that swirl in the water current and he grabs those as they fall near his cave. Musta been a helluva coup to take down such an aggressive (some woud say screwball) fish. He still jukes at Slade but its chicken **** stuff at this point...he just jukes halfway out his cave then darts back in. The speckled pink fry to the right is Deuce, one of three surviving pinks from Slade/Harlequin. Adult son Squiggy is below.
