My 1000 Gallon Glass Aquarium (1000+ Gallons for Dummies)

Cheers!! Your black is going to get HUGE in that tank, mine has had a massive growth spurt in the few months it has been in the big tank. I love your bass, I wish they were available here.

The new lighting looks great, much better. No hot spots. Is it on a drip system? I think I need to come up and see this monster in person, haha.

Love the glass tank!
It looks so crisp and clean.
Well job w/ the scape as well.
You know we could always use some more pics in the cichla section ;)
THanks for sharing.

What is that substrate is that a fake pad or is it loose gravel.

I guess by your two choices it's a fake pad. :) I think there is a description of it earlier in the thread. It is from Universal Rocks, as are the background and other decorations.

No drip yet, but I'll have to figure that out once I finalize the plumbing. Right now I average 150g/day in water changes. I have my heater disconnected mind you while I replumb some stuff. The tank only drops 4[sup]o[/sup]F over the course of 24 hours. I usually just swap out 100g or so every night to bump the temp back up. I have a demand water heater. :)

New lids are made. I hope to pick them up this weekend, along with a 180g growout tank for some smaller cichla to fit in the stand. Then I can put up the rest of the lights. Still a few more ballasts to get. Apparently Hagen is in the middle of changing all their GLO T5 product line to Fluval packaging. My timing is, as usual, impeccable.

Still need to finish the landscaping by adding some plants...one day soon. I'll add some pictures and video of the stock to the Cichla forum once the setup is more or less complete.

I new the background rocks and log are a foam type material. I didn't realize the bottom substrate was also the same material it looks so clean. So its completely sealed down so nothing can get under it.
