All I have are 55's and I believe they get to large for a 12" wide aquarium, right?

yes, that's correct. if you ever get a chance pickup a 75G or 90G tank, that would work well for one full grown male.

Nope, a Midas or even a hybrid gets around 14". When full grown you need a 75g atleast or larger for a single male. This could however work for a female as they top out around 10"

100%. Build says Midas, Lips and mouth say Devil. Regardless it is an awsome fish. Love his coloration. he is solid.
