It was IMO

I am a carpenter by trade aswell so having that knowledge helps alot i am just completly stumped on how I wanna run my filtration my plan was to have the water flow from the bottom of the tank from a 2" bulkhead into the pump
which then pumps the water higher than the tank an dumps into a plastic garbage can that will have bio meadia an mechanical filtration an then pours back into the tank through the canopy from both ends via 2" piping

thats what I have in mind if anyone has some better ideas I am more than open to hear then

y not run a sump? bulkheads on top water goes into a biotower then through a trickle tray filter(foam prefilters of course) and then through a scrubby compartment top it off with a diatom filter.

I think he's planning to sit the tank on the floor, so a sump can't go under the tank.

Your filtration idea will work just fin, only things to keep in mind are if the power goes out, your tank needs to be able to absorb the full volume of the filter without overflowing (easy). Also, if the power goes out with an overhead filter like that, your bio media will dry out, killing your bacteria. You can get around that by putting a pipe from the bottom of your trash can or barrel up the side a ways, and then out into the tank, with a siphon break in it, so even if the power goes out, your filter does not completely drain.

Also, I don't know what your filter turnover is planned at, but depending on your fish mess, you'll want to run at least 5000gph

Pond liner? How do you plan to attach it to the windows? I've read that using pond liner w/windows won't work as the liner is too flexible and leaks will inevitably occur.

I will be drilling the acrylic with holes every 4" an using stainless steal screws with a rubber washer an then a metal washer then covering all of that with aquarium silicone
I will be also using alot of silicone between the linear an acrylic

kind of like this , its the guy in the video's tank
