was the 2x4's around the top and bottom frame of the tank needed on a tank this size? or were the added for extra measure?

dont know if they were "needed", but i figured better safe than sorry.

Alright... so the tank has been up and running for about a 2 months. dont really have time to post pics, but i will try to get them up soon. i've already "rescued" a 12" peacock bass (bad hole in the head), and 3 8" jack dempseys. My RTCxTSN is getting HUGE! i just built the hood today. and i'm still tinkering with the sump design. Alright, i just snapped some shots. my camera sucks...

Looks good, glad to see it up and running..

The HITH isn't too bad luckily.

Tha catfish is great though. Shovelnose type catfish are really starting to grow on me!

sorry to say it but i had to tear down the tank. i moved into a smaller place, and couldn't find room for it:cry:. i am now in the planning stage of doing a 180G plywod build. i'll post more as progress moves along...

Shame.

Hopefully you can build something new.

Monroe, WA? I was there for formula drift not long ago.

Too bad. You did a good job on it to have to tear it down.
