do you have grow lights in your sump? water wisteria and stratiegeic algea growth will help keep the nitrates down

Not really grow lights, but I do have an extra aquarium light down there. Its on the same timer as the tank lights. The marimo balls don't take too much light.

I haven't tested my nitrates in awhile. I probably should now that I've taken out the large rtc. I took the tsn out as well, but they didn't get along so well together in the 210, so after a night, he went back in the 450.

I'm hoping to set up an automatic drip system soon. I keep putting it off. When I set that up, I want to pull the sump out and fix the design a bit. Probably also redo my plumbing as well.

Just another photo of the stand. Was supposed to be stained this past week, but the guy just came today to pick up the canopy and the doors to start staining in his shop. One day this might be complete.

Last image of the RTC in the 450. Notice the fat belly. He ate a rock. He coughed it up the following day, so all is ok.

Getting bigger, mostly hides though I would guess he's maybe 10" now. 2" of that is the tail fin lol so he's just a baby still

Yeah, they showed them hanging on the rocks in the show, doesn't surprise me that he would hide. Still, as he gets bigger, he'll have less to hide behind.

In the show they talked about them eating burned human remains from ceremonial funerals they have on the beaches. Perhaps you could work out some kind of deal with a local funeral parlor?

I'm hoping to set up an automatic drip system soon. I keep putting it off. When I set that up, I want to pull the sump out and fix the design a bit. Probably also redo my plumbing as well.

I just redid my water supply to both my swamp coolers on my roof. I used PEX line and tapped off my hot water supply. This stuff is great! It was cheap and very easy to work with! There's all kinds of T off valves so you can T off of any water line in your house then run the pex line along the walls or under the carpet. It's about the size of a cable TV line. For my 450 I ran a copper supply line and that was a PITA! The PEX line is the way to go.

The hardest part about a drip system is the drain. Your tank looks like it's in the middle of the house. Do you have a outer wall to run the drain too? If you can get a drain line in the rest is cake. Minimum drain size I would use is 1.5" that way you can shove the end of a python hose in it for gravel cleaning, no buckets. I don't buy into the pre-filtering of my drip system but I would think it would be easy to set up, just run a filter in line or some kind of RO system?

Yeah, typical cat, hides when young. It seriously looks like a shark from the back of the head to the tail. The head is just mouth with two evil eyes on top! I can't wait till it starts eating mice

thats cool man you have a 425 Gallon fish tank!! from Craigslist for $2,000 that is actually pretty reasonable! But im 16 so i gotta wait till im out of high school then fly to well Arizona cause my dad grandma+pa and my uncle is there to so i wanna move there to such this town isnt great anymore but yea it sucks if you wanted a stingray tank cause there illegal in AZ but if i were you get some bichirs, gars, or arowanas well maybe but get permits for the rays lol...i like to see your future tank when its done man!!!!!!
