The stand and hood look great, I can't wait to see it setup. What are you planning to stock in it.

Thanks. I actually JUST got it set up. Litterally like 10 minutes ago!!!

I'll post the finishing pics of the stand once I get them on the computer. and I'll post the tank once the water clears up a little.

The tank is going to be salt water. I've wanted salt water for a long time. Although a MONSTER fresh water with Monster fish is my DREAM TANK. My wife really loves the salt water. So this is going to be the Salty. Plus 100 Gallons isn't Monster enough.

I haven't decided the exact stock list but I know we're going to do some tangs and clowns...maybe some butterfly fish. Not exactly sure yet.

Cool, saltwater ought to be a bit more of a challenge
Yeah we'll see.....it has definately been more expensive :WHOA:

I have the entire system set up though. So I just have to let it cycle and then see if we can't keep some healthy fish.

FishHead, you rock :headbang2 :headbang2

Derper, you are doing a kick ass job on that stand and lid but you just insulted the god of carpentry and home improvement. That is guy in the picture is Norm Abrams from This Old House and New Yankee Workshop.

Bob Villa is the boob of home improvement. He should change his name to Boob Villa. Several years ago, he sold his house and the buyers declined the realtors recommendation to get a home inspection. They figured since Boob Villa owned the house that they didn't need an inspection. After they moved in, they found out that the place was a dump. The plumbing and faucets through out the house leaked, and there were electrical problems galore. There were tons of other problems too. The buyers sued Boob Villa because he didn't disclose the problems. He won the case because he is not an expert on home repair, nor does he have any actual experience. He is just the host of his program. Other people tell him what to say and do.

Thanks. Yeah again on the first post, the total cost for both was about $125.

Birch Ply wood on sale at home depot $35 (because of the size of the metal stand I only needed 1 sheet.)

Trim was about $15-20 (I did already have some of the trim, plus I bought real simple inexpensive stuff. These two factors kept that cost way down. Trim could get real expensive real quick).

Hardware was about $30 (piano hinges, stand handles, hood handles and magnets for the doors.)

Paint was about $45 (Primer and Paint)

That totals - $125-130.....There are some other costs like nails and caulk and puddy for the nail holes. All of this I already had. I could have very easily put a whole heck of a lot more $$$ into it but I was on a tight budget so I did what I could.
