Hi,
I have read this from beggining to end and love what you are doing! A couple of points:
1. Maybe the ferret is part of the natural set-up? You are doing it the way nature intends and then when nature intervenes... do you really want to intervene as well.
2. I am currently running a tiny tank on the same principles that you use and have in the past run a couple of hundred litres on that principle as well. People just cannot believe that plants can give this type of filtration.
3. Have you looked into a bog/stream for filtration if you get your wind or solar electrics going? They work realy good!

For now i'm not going to try to catch the ferret. I hope that everything stays the same and this little guy doesn't do more damage.
I'm going to do a nice new home for my land turtles and well protected.

Dear dear dear, did you fail for this old gem again? They have been trying to flog perpetual motion since victorian days, but their has been a big upsurge again since every one is desperate to go green.
