Okay, so an update. It had been about 12 hours since I received the rays when I took these shots. I had dropped in some blackworms but no confirmed eatings. I have the tank set up so that there is sand in a small area since the tank is only temporary, but to give them a place to interact with the sand that will be in their tank. The rest is bare bottom .... and now I see a huge advantage in that...

Meanwhile, about an hour later, the larger male has decided to feel the sand.

I caught the little female swimming up and down the side of the tank and she would settle when she saw me walk in ... after catching her do it a second time I stayed and waited and then she started again ..
