Wow what an amazing accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself. I cant wait to see it finished!
Thanks:), neither can I, if there is anything left of me;)

Started the online order for the vortexes, drains, pipework, and valves for the project today, by the time I'd hit pipework I was all ready up to £350/$600:eek:, I had budgeted £300/$550 for this so I stopped for a rethink. I'm not going to compromise when it comes to this, this is where I started and failed in the past, looks like I'm going to have to put some long hours in at work as well as the project work to cover the cost:irked:. Hopefully I can rack up enough hours during August to get it all done for Mrs Y's Birthday.

Any feed back on the filtration? Will it be enough with what I have planned? I have planned in the possibility of adding twice as much filtration next year if necessary with the second bottom drain, I could run a completely separate system on each drain(I'll find the space:WHOA:) rather than run both through one set of filters(as per the current plan), I could easily(by easily I mean dig out twice as much) if needed, but due to cost it would be added next year?

add the space...u can always filled later, but digging it out later will be tougher

ya... whats a couple more wheelbarrow loads of clay after all you've done so far.

It'll only take another days work to dig out the hole 2 for the filters, but it would be easier if they were here so I could make sure everything fits rather than have to change the hole size at later date.

Then I've got the channels for the drains and pipe work to dig out and level off which I'd rather have the pipes and drains before I do as well.

I'll sort it out one way or another tomorrow

Take a day and relax... look over what you have accomplished and then it will renew your energy....:headbang2

Wow! You are crazier than me:screwy: :D That is amazing. When I was in college I used to work at a cemetary during the summer and digging a hole for a grave is insane by hand (I've done it), but this takes the cake. Take your time and don't cut any corners, you will regret it later. Best of luck and I will be following this thread till completion.

Thanks Liz, that was sort of the plan, use tomorrow as a day off rather than a day off with digging and reassess :)

That's the main thing, if I cut one the whole project will end up a mess, this stage is critical in order to ensure everything is perfect level or else all the digging will have gone to waste and there will be water everywhere.

:welcome: to MFK, and sit back if you've subscribed and enjoy the ride:)
