New project, will take a long time

I could rig up some flexible piping and clip it in as a temp fix?

Need some diy indy style input?

i have totally forgotten how the design works. I'll do some back reading and see what might work.

From what I can see.... you're best bet is to go with the flexible PVC and slide that big dude in, possibly at an angle. I assume the pump will strictly be usecd for the UV? Should be Ok no matter where you put it wit the flexible stuff. It would also allow you to take it out if necessary.

will it fit parallel along the box wall to the right of your pump in the second pic??
No, It won't be level with the return then, although it will fit.

Pharaoh, here are the pictures of the planned return, just roughly to save you reading back:

Up and over the vortex with a vertical pipe down to the jap matting:

This is where the water will return to the pond, just used some pipe lying around to show where it goes:

Just thinking about you sisters pond, you may need 4 bottom drains at that size, big money even if you diy most of it:nilly:

mite could build a PVC container with caps on each end not plugs for service and plumb it through the pvc with valves and unions and bury it next to the wall. cover it with your flagstone for access.

The pump runs the whole system, the uv is at the end of the system.

Thanks guys, I'll try and get some flexible pipe for now and take it from there

Can't you shove the UV in the return pipe you have shown in that last picture? Looks like its big enough.
Yes, but then I can't line up that to the return directly from the pump
