System has been running for 24 hours now and the water is starting to clear slowly. Visibility is 1/4-1/2 foot better already, only another 3 foot to go and I fire up the fluid bed tomorrow

After the system test I thought it was a good idea to rip everything out and see what was going on in there, here's the results:
Chamber one as expected had plenty of waste in the bottom.
Chamber two was fairly clean, mainly as there was nothing in it and the first chamber had done it's job.
Chamber three, well that was a different story. As there is so much matting the remaining waste can't get through it so underneath was a real mess.
Here's the bottom matting:
Here's the new filter idea to remove more solids. a sheet of matting added to the bottom of the chamber and 50 litres of new K1 added: Another 50 litres of matured K1 added:
Another sheet added on top.
Also in the bottom of chamber 3, I can't believe how much it's grown, must be feasting on frog spawn:
I've been out several times all day today with no sign of the fish(apart from the took a ride through the system sturgeon), I'm wondering where they've all gone.
There is tons of frog spawn in there, so they could be on the bottom eating that. Still the weather has been great today I would have thought they come up to bask in the sun. I just want the water to clear now so I can find out, I'm guessing at this rate it could be several weeks with the amount of waste that was in the filters.
perhaps it's time to supercharge the filter so you can see the BOTTOM!!! This is why I don't like outdoor ponds.. you never know if your fish are actually still there when you don't see them for awhile... possibly taken by some other predator... Most likly not though
