New project, will take a long time

Good job bro...glad to see ya got the system tuned up...;) :headbang2
Thanks bro, and for all the support along the way :)

1. To keep the K1 from clogging around the outlet of chamber 2 I'm having to run the full air pump on the fluid bed which mean no air to the bottom drain, at some point I'll have to get another one.
2. I've still got the level issues with the flagging, about 10 have to come up and be leveled off so the pond is at a perfectly level(my dad will be back in the country in a month, sounds like a job for him to help with;)).
3. The filters will need stripping down weekly in my estimation based off the skimmer. It needs cleaning out every 5-6 days because of clogging. It has 2 rings of jap matting as a pre filter. So until the water is fully clear I expect to do this every 7 days or so, plus the water removed during this will be a 1200 litres water change which can't hurt, after that nature and a six monthly overhaul is all that will be needed.
4. I need some monsters, due to my work situation I can't just blow £X on one fish, I've promised my mate Nigel from www.topponds.com (cheap plug I know but he's helped out loads lending me this and that, plus his advise has been somewhat expensive;)), that I'll get my first from him. He's got a new shipment in next week and I want a monster tancho kohaku, as soon as I'm back on top this will be my first purchase, Mrs Y can't sleep thinking about the price:naughty:.

Thanks for reading the journey, once the filters were fired up I'm some what tired and relieved, I just need to sit back and watch it clear, I may even have a beer or two whilst watching;)

Thank you MFK:)

Alrighty then sounds all good to me, trust me you haven't bored me - you just make me say: why, why ,why, you didn't make it any better just harder, but I guess someone gotta re-invent the wheel everynow and again.

Anyway dude I totally wish you luck with the rest. And if I have anything to add, I'll PM you or bring it somewhere else, though most likely I'll still bring it wherever I want. You know I get tired real quik of those that know best, that haven't scaped the surface yet.

I love the idea that you have a Sturgeon in there, too bad it's not like 12 incher. But it should make quik work of anything dead and stinky in the pond. When it gets to smoking size just let me know. (No Joke):naughty:

Thanks for the nice words. There are actually 2 sturgeon in there, I could have got some larger ones but they would have cost more, plus I always tend to by fish small and watch them grow. They should top out around a metre or so in length fully grown.

Thanks Green

Design one on the vortex cover failed(the K1 chamber), I can only guess that it wasn't fully set when I fired it up and it worked lose overnight. Very annoying as everything was working fine, and it was solid try to get it off. My face must have been a picture trying to workout where all the k1 had gone overnight;).

The grill only failed in a tiny corner but I guess that was enough. However it wasn't that bad of an experience, as I stripped down the layers of matting to retrieve the K1
from underneath it became clear that the matting was doing a great job of filtering, of course with the matting removed the chamber became a right mess so needed to be drained but at least now I know I can use the valves to drain the mess out from underneath the matting and it does work because I tried it after I refilled.

Here's the strainer on the settling chamber that works fine and as planned, not pretty but hey who cares, the same design is now on chamber 2 as well:

Apart from the 20 minutes or so to sort that out, I've done nothing on the pond today, makes a change. Oh, apart from feeding the fish:D

And it's still clearing faster than I expected

I think, therefore you are!, Using the wrong size mesh as a strainer.

 water level is stable even with some build up on the strainer in one, the other design failed due to adhesive problems, even with heavy build up water flows nicely, same design now on chamber 2, please explain?

telling ya man the fix I spoke of earlier would work for you if you could get what you need sealed to be dry for a 24hour stretch, it would not be the most cosmetic fix but I assure you it will be leak proof
