through the side or the end and is it meant for outside i must have missed it in the rest of the thread I used to work for a plumber that installed them and no light escaped the tube

Yeah, that's normal on the end, its so you know the bulb is on. Mine and a few others I have seen are the same.

Yes it's weather proof

I know I got a way OTT UV but I've got to ask, is this normal:

Is what normal - The tiny bit of blue light? The tiny bit of light showing through, how else are you too tell that it's On/Working? Without that you would be like, does the light in the fridge actually stay off/go out when the door is closed?
