and him being certified and guaranteed clean fish too...
a place like that over here is major "Cha-Ching"
He has to get a stupid amount of checks done under license to keep it.

Two scoops of foam left to settle overnight:

It's been a busy couple of days in the pond world, the ff started leaking on Wednesday when I was playing around with the levels, I'm not sure if it was my fault or the units but I found a slight crack in the fiberglass which was the cause of the leak. Hacked off I left it because I couldn't find any more of the 'magic epoxy' that was used to fix all the pipework.

Thursday I got some more and left the wife to seal it, for some reason she resealed the whole unit:screwy: and I put it back on yesterday. No matter what I did with the levels and flow rates I just couldn't get it foam as well as it had been.

At 05:30 this morning Mrs Y woke me with a loving 'we are losing foam into the pond, I'm going back to bed'

Wearing only a vest I went to investigate:

Shoot...it's working now eh!??!
It looks like that foam insulation you spray out of a can and it expands so much!

How far do you recon you can pipe that foam? can you plumb a pipe to waste somewhere or does it have to stay local and be removed manually?

Shouldn't you be in bed, by my rough calculation its about midnight over there:screwy:

Basically when the filters are redone there will be a 90 going to a tub that will be emptied manually. It will stop foaming at some point once all the dissolved solids are removed(could take weeks with the state of the pond).

Either way I'm trying to clear the pond, since I treated for blanket weed the pond has been very green and dirty for some reason, I've not seen a fish for weeks. The filters have are full of filter floss(you know the tiny sheets that you put on the last bit of a tank filter), except I've got 16'' of the stuff in there that I'm cleaning daily:naughty:

16"?? dam man that is quite the mechanical floss, you must be getting a brown sludge like stuff in the floss?
Has the temps come up enough for the fish to be treatable yet?

Oh and yeah it's already "time to get up #3" for the day 12:30AM, that makes it 8:30AM there....I got UK time on my #2 clock in the lower righthand corner of vista...:naughty: don't wanna ask too many questions before you have tea...or Coffee er whatever you do for caffine in the am;)

You've got a second clock on uk time?

The floss is removing so much that I'm having to drain the filters daily as so much crAp is getting stuck in it that the water underneath is horrible. I'm expecting to hit a pinch point where the water will go very clear very quickly at some point(hopefully) then I can see the fish and treat again, if there's any left:irked:

Ask away I'm on cup of tea number six and nicotine intake number ten;)
