Heck YEAH!!
Give this guy some sunshine and he can get some stuff D O N E!!

With that pesky concrete you can never have enough bracing...
Good work Bro, it looks like it's gonna be fine on the level...
Thanks Zen, good weather forecast for the next few days, hope it all stays good till I'm next off. Next plan is go get the drain concreted in and then the other side of collar. Should be doable in my next block off

so... too wet... I was hoping for more....
Glad you edited;)
Sorry if the progress is not fast enough the clue is in the thread title;) By hand mixing the concrete I've saved £200/$400 so yes it does take time but the air pump alone for this beast is £300/$600 so every saving counts, even if mean slower progress.

The fiddly bits(time consuming bits) are a pain but if done right should mean a lot of progress in a little space of time:)

Enjoy the popcorn!

Anybody whose done freehand "level" brick-laying knows how long and tedious this course would be...And who the heck is keeping you stocked with brick to lay as you go...If you are doing that all by yourself KUDOS brother, you're an animal!

Don't worry zen, the brick is only for a stable base, nothing more. I need to come up 4 inches or so to make the whole thing level with the pond so I've got lots of room to play with. Plus the vortexes are going to supported by the bracing as well.

Plus I've got my dad to pass me them as they are laid;)

It looks really good,
and I so suck a laying brick...:thumbs-up:

Dropped another £100 on pipework, valves and fitting today on the way to work but no more I have it all here. No more pipework costs:headbang2

Just got to plumb everything together now:nilly::nilly:

this is great man keep it. could you take a few extra pics of the fitting between the bottom drain and the pond liner when you come to fit the liner if its not to much trouble :headbang2:headbang2good luck keep up the good work

Will do Fraser. Should be two-three weeks for the liner fitting if I can get the the rest of the concrete in this weekend.

Dad's are great, he came around today and finished the brick work in hole two when I was at work:headbang2

Meanwhile at the finance end of the project I managed to get the air pump for £200 less than planned:headbang2
Work was crap but there again you can't have everything.;)

If the weather will hold out and I get to the planned point after Tuesday(That's the important bit as all the concreting is planned to be done) then I might and please don't hold me to this, should be at the fill point mid September.

For the number crunchers out there that's about a grand over budget and 3 weeks later than Mrs Y's Birthday(which I've been reminded of tonight).

A nice card and an IOU will do:ROFL:

LOL its the Birthday thats gonna drive the overage even higher man you are an inspiration to my Girlfriend for me to build one. I don't think mine will be hand dug. I was worried she would be apposed to me getting any more tanks or adding a pond but now I have to hold her back on spending all my money on fish stuff. keep us posted I love reading the progress
