New project, will take a long time

The sequence series of pumps will more than pay for themselves because of their low wattage draw per GPH.

I just ordered the Reeflo DART.
I got it for 200usd and it's 3600gph

I would try to turn over the pond more than one time per hour, because when the Bio-load increases just by the fish growing you'll wish you had.

I will say with your vorti you could go for a smaller one now, but you'll be buying more GPH later.

They are totally re-buildable...so you might consider a used one...

Thanks for the info. I'm still not sure what to do, I could really do without this expense, I think I'll risk going for the lower flow for now and upgrade at a later date

Hello Yan, just found your thread today, excellent read, enjoying the journey. Didn't think you would get this far with our lousy weather and poor ground conditions - enough to put anyone off tackling a project of this scale. Credit to you; looking forward to more :)

Ops forgot the update:duh:

Right well, it was ok this morning and I went out to finish the flags on the far end and ran straight into trouble. As the patio runs from the house and engulfs the pond as it goes it means that as the flags have gone down along the sides there is a slight over hang on the other end which if I laid them down I'd have 2 inches of liner showing, so after an hour of moving them and playing about with patterns I'm still no closer to working this one out. After a chat with Mrs Y the rough(very) plan is to construct some sort of mini waterfall in the middle where the gap would be and run a little off the return to run it, again I'm not sure how this is going to happen so you'll need to bare with me why I work it all out.

Went to see the koi guy to replace the screw on 90s I got the other day as I can't screw them in due the 90 catching on the chamber, every solution to this was expensive, not hugely but enough to stop him selling me the solution(it's a miricale he's still open), I got a contact off him who sells flexi pipe which seems to be the cheapest option, so that should sort that out.

Onto the pump, I talked to him about going for the 10k not the 15k that he reccomened(after talking to Zen), he said he didn't think it would be a problem and turn over should still be ok, which made up my mind. Obviously he was too expensive and couldn't sell me one at his price so I told him a couple of net prices which he said were more than good. Found one at £240 which is really good but the guy didn't want to answer his phone so I thought hmmmm, no, I've just ordered one now for £244 and why I was at it I ordered a 55w UV as well, the way I look at it with no job if the house gets repossessd, I can alway buy a dingy and live on the pond;)

When you get to this page I'm glad you did what I posted before, was that when he was asleep on the mixing board?
