I think I've solved the problem of the flags not being right on the far side:

Here's the problem and a fish came to supervise:

Instead of laying the return pipe under the flags as planned I can use the gap to hold the pipe, here's a rough mock up:

I think so Just put a little food in after seeing the fish, 2 minutes later all six were up and feeding

I'm off to lay the flags, update and a little surprise or two later

That UV looks around the same size as mine They are beastly to handle, but when you get it situated ... you'll LOVE the money spent.
