Don't get me wrong. I would be tickled pink if peacock bass were here in Costa Rica, but Ive been trying to get a hold of peacock bass for about 3 years now and I havn't even see them in captivity. I talked with the natural resource people here because I was going to buy some from tangled up in cichlids. They basically said that they would press charges if I did. I even pretended that I was a hotel owner and I wanted them for tourism. Nope! Didn't work. We only have one major lake "Arenal" and its full of Guapote "Dovii" and Tilapia.
I know this may be a bit of a let down but I'll start with African Cichlids. At least until the filter systems get going.

Filling the bog the old fashion way. A wheel barrel, a long plank, and a barefoot worker. He said the mud was wearing out his shoes. Who would have figured. The first couple of loads were way too dirty. So I had them start washing the rocks first. Oops there goes one of the loads in the pool.

This weekend I felt like doing some planting. Notice the red palms by the larger palm with the ferns in it. They're some of my favorites.
