Offical Pike Cichlid Photo Shoot

Updates of my babies!! Hopefully the male lent will continue to improve!! :)

Looks great peanut

But :eek3: big size difference between them hope your lent doesn't eat it knock on wood would hate to see such a nice pike get eaten

Thanks. I'm keeping all their bellies full on shiners and goldies, so so far no problems :)

Nice pikes, man. Hopefully, my jo will grow quickly so I can get some good shots of it.

Just a few from tonight's fun (I moved all the cichlid tankmates out of the 125 where my Crenicichla menezesi have spawned, to improve the chances of fry survival (assuming the eggs hatch)):

The pair...

...and the male (I had several better poses that were, of course, out of focus).

Photo quality is a little better than the shots of the eggs that I posted a few days ago, but still not perfect.

Before moving the pikes into this tank, it had housed some Central Americans...and I only this evening remembered that I had some crushed coral in the filter to buffer the water. I have removed that, and replaced it with peat...hoping that the eggs will be viable.

Looking great man! Def. a rare Saxatilis in the hobby! Hope you bring them back in!!! :D

So after lots of Peanut pestering, I borrowed a friend's camera. These are two differant males of that new Colombia/Rio Atabapo dwarf pikes coming in as wallacii.
