Nice lookin healthy Lugubris - the fire-orange eyes are intense, also like the dark edged fins. They look very similar to a Cr. strigata strain we had until a year ago.
I'd guess size of at least 10", good luck with your pair!

got this jo thanks to Mike (HCR). The fire didn't like it at first, but it was just flashing, no nipping or anything. All seems well now, but it's only been a couple hours. Sry again for the bad pix.

thanks. downside is it's hard to get pix :D

damn X1 is gilling really really hard. It has a couple marks on it, but nothing that looks serious. :irked: At least it's not just sitting in the corner anymore. I hope it's alright.

Hmm...thats odd. IME the sp. 'atabapo II' are the most sensitive of pikes I've kept. So if its not stressed, no idea why the sp. 'xingu I' would be. They are like rock solid pikes. Hope it didn't get stressed in a fight or something.

what i woulda thought, too

btw, the X1 survived and is doing well again :D the johanna is def more aggressive than the others, but the pikes are all getting along as well as you would possibly think

some more pics of my noto's any their tank.
