Back in my day it used to be 2x monthly salary here. I certainly wouldn't want to pay 3x my current on one. So much better things it could go for. A big aquarium or a new computer.

I wasn't aware that the rings had to be within a certain price range.I guess the jewelers came up with that.

3K would be considered cheap now a days for a lot of people here in the US. I think the current recommended amount is up to 3x your monthly salary now.
That's stupid! Why on earth would anyone spend all that money on an engagement ring!? Hell, at least make the actual wedding ring the fancy one so that if you drop it, it just rolls along the floor of the cathedral and can be easily retrieved!

I wouldn't be brave enough to wear a $3000 ring in case I lost it! Imagine that conversation "hey honey, I accidentally lost my $3000 engagement ring..." "YOU DONE WHAT?!" lol

I didn't know this either. I was under the assumption that as long as she liked the ring it didn't matter how much it cost. Personally I think most of the $150 rings look better than the $3000 rings for the most part anyway.

Hey fish keepers,
Can I ask a favor? Can you ask me a tropical fish question/s and answer my 3 questions. Your favorite fish, how you got in hobby, and favorite lfs. it's easy, spoken, and fun. go to www.speakpipe.com/acnetworkhotline and hit record and then stop and send when finished. I will use it on my first fish keeping q and a it would help make the show awesome, thanks!

I remember seeing somewhere that those having expensive lavish weddings have a higher chance of divorce than those with more budget weddings

I'm Where I'm At
Well that sucks haha.
I have already been told if I paid 2 or 3 paychecks on a ring my girlfriend would be pissed at me. She said to buy her a quad, bike, or a truck.
That's a keeper. My wife is the same. She doesn't even want flowers. She says a $40 dozen roses is a waste. Better off taking her to dinner or something she can use

My rings and wedding were budget. Luckily my wife's church really helped us out. The ladies in her church cooked all the food for a $100 fee and they rented out the nice service room for $100 to have the ceremony. We had the reception in their gym at no extra cost, they helped us decorate it too. It was a humble wedding but pretty awesome. Im sentimental person and it means the world to me that my friends and family were there. We also got over 7 grand in cash plus gifts from guests. It was pretty cool
