Hello; Context matters for sure. I get the feeling this "me to" outing about sexual harassment is beyond simple misunderstanding. Seems more like a poorly defined movement.I think it depends on how you say it, although to be honest I'm thinking obscene remarks would be sexual in nature?
Some are using the current atmosphere to get at folks they simply have a grudge with by claiming to have been groped or worse. Sure a few are guilty which gives some foundation but my guess is many claims are made up. I know a few folks I would like to do harm to if I had a risk free way to get at them.
There was an older lady who called in on C-Span this morning. Her story was when she was young she was proud of her developing figure. Also that she was wearing a tight sweater and while sitting on a mans lap he touched her breasts a lot. She did not tell anyone or make a fuss back then but now it was harassment in her mind. Even many decades ago an older man was breaking the law doing such to an underage girl.
As I wrote in an earlier post, I know of some false claims and I bet others do as well.
Hello; Yes that is the new term. I wonder how complicated the rule book will get with these recent social modifications."cultural appropriation"
So if one day I "feel" like a different gender I get to change the bathroom I use. But even if I "feel" like a native American I cannot wear a native American costume. Sounds like lots of catch-22's to me.
