Official Off Topic Discussion Thread #1

It's not who's right, but what's right.

I dont know why we segregate ourselves due to political affiliation. Why can't we meet in the middle? I don't want to go off the cliff on the left, but I also don't want to do that on the right.

I tell you one thing we have got to start locking up these unstable people. Way way way too many mental cases walking around...proven unstable. I'm looking at alot of these cases and these people have a long history of mental health issues. No we can't lock them up that's mean...how about we give them a gun instead.

We just had an incident here. Shooting at a hospital. 1 dead, 1 still fighting. Guy had a ton of issues . Went to a mental health facility for 6 months came back. Still can't be a productive worker and then they fired him with no security around. Dude had a gun on him all day in anticipation in a hospital!!!

The other day someone told me about an incident on a New York subway stop.A man walked up to a woman and hauls off and punches her small child she had with her. Before the man ran off he was heard saying to the crying child,"what are you gonna do now,cry to your momma?"There are so many nuts running around and many of them are ready to just blow a gasket at any minute.

Got it....something similar but on a much smaller scale has been going on here in this city with some of the big colleges attempting to force locals out of their homes....as for Ryan, the less I say about him the better.
Yes I don't know how to feel about that guy, but the main thing is those people are basically losing there homes because the govt says so. Just using it as comparison to the thought of "hey I'm american so it's my right to own as many weapons blah blah blah"

Man I couldn't agree more. See that's where the real hustle is... All of this toting the political line. Not me I have my own brain and don't need some dumb ass NRA, rep, Libby or anyone else brainwashing me into forgetting about plain I'll common sense.

Yup family was in over the weekend talking about it. What has allot of people upset is 10yrs ago the guy would have never made it off the train and people would have chased him down. Today nothing

And,as I undestand it the incident took place during a busy time and there were quite a few other people around yet no one did anything to help the woman and child.I suppose they were all either too enthralled in their cell phone screens, scared or just flat out indifferent and uncaring.

So sad,if you see something wrong try and do something about it,all these people are so hooked and brainwashed on being nonviolent that they forget how to use violence for good.
Everyone is looking only after themselves and (maybe their family).

Remember Jesus said : love thy neighbor"
A good law to live by,wherever you go.

It's really crazy. What happened to just doing the right thing.

Don't know,it doesn't even make sense,
Used to be when someone did something terrible there was a reason and people would help if they knew about it.

Now everyone just does what they want with no regards to anyone or anything, people are so convinced that their problems are worse than anyone else's.
If we want to solve these problems we first have to get together and recognize the REAL problem, then work collectively to solve it.
These days people use emotions and feelings to " solve" problems.
Emotions are a bad compass, for fear and unrighteous hatred will just lead us deeper into our troubles.

Hello; Interesting. I was physically disciplined and have never been prone to solving problems thru violence. I also physically disciplined students the first 10 to 15 years of my teaching career and have not seen such a tendency among the ones I know.
Is it not a fact that over decades, if not centuries, physical discipline was the norm and we did not have school shootings? Seems to me that this has become currently common in the era since such discipline measures have been pretty much taken away?? [/QUOTE]
I attribute it more to the poor mental health resources here. Also, a ton of the shooters' motivations tend to be from bullying and wanting to go down in infamy. Regarding the effects of spanking :

Gun costs: 600-1000 dollars
Permit: varies from state to state https://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/rpt/2013-R-0048.htm

Regarding the effects of spanking :
Hello; Have not looked at your link. My have the same sort of stuff I had to digest when still teaching. Lots of in service hours I logged in every year and plenty on the effects of corporal punishment as they were taking it away as a discipline tool. Note- For what it is worth, I did not much like to paddle students. However when it was taken away there was no effective discipline offered in it's place.
I could go on a long time about the subject but will briefly touch on he bullies. Back when I could paddle there was not much the bullies could get away with at my middle school (Or high schools for that matter). Two or three of the teachers pretty much always carried a paddle during recess and lunch period. If we saw any such activity we would settle it right then and there. In fact not much ever happened during that time. It only took getting the attention of a few at the start of the school year, after only a few times the paddles were needed. The smaller more timid children made sure to keep me or Mr. F in sight when out and about during non-class times and we kept an eye out on all of them.
By the time the paddle was gone the rough kids had very little check on their behavior. That was when I personally saw a rise in undesireable behavior through out the schools including the bullies.
I get that you are not likely to accept my personal experience as worth anything but there it is.
