I had never heard of red tide before,it sounds pretty horrible.In other news in Florida I also read about a recent case of a sea ture being rescued by US Coast Guard personell.The turtle was trapped in the lashings of floating bails of cocaine.

That's weird, maybe the turtle joined the war against drugs, soon there will be anti dealer turtles with cannons on there shells

Correct, fatal to both mammals and fish, reptiles etc.

Many years ago the KGB made a suicide pill which I believe contained red tide .

Wasn't the ballistic knife created by them? I would love to have one of those.

I would to, you can buy them legally without the spring.
The ballistic knife was made originally by Russian criminals.
Another interesting weapon is the apache, which looked cool but probably wasn't very effective as a ranged weapon

Agree with you here mr.sandwich, get experience first then argue your point, and if your wrong accept it and learn from that experience , it's also clear that imabot doesn't have much experience with firearms, police vehicles etc.
Many of the other weapons that police officers often carry are to bulky for use in most of the situations encountered by most leos, for short range a sidearm is quicker to draw and manuever, while rifles and shotguns tend to be more awkward to move about with due to length and over time weight, many rifle for example weigh from 8 to 24+ lbs, which can be taxing and exhaust officers, especially those of smaller stature or build, furthermore some long weapons have projectiles that can go thru the perpetrator and injure other people or items behind the perp.

I didn't agree with him completely , I explained that his position was not to disarm the police completely.

IMO that wouldn't happen. If prostitution was legal, more people would use it, and business would increase obviously. They would have a incentive to avoid minors because their lost business would be made up for by legalization.

Imagine the unplanned pregnancies and Soo true very unethical.

The apache is a black powder hand gun with a knuckle duster type handle and a foldable kris type bayonet, would make a good close range weapon(for that place and time). You really need to look at a picture.

Other weird interesting things:
A spiked gauntlet and shield combo with an attached lantern used to be used by nobles to stave off criminals at night, it's often referred to as a lamp shield.

The chakram was a ring shaped throwing weapon, sometimes called a war frisbee, which had a sharpened or spiked outer edge, they could be thrown at an opponent .

The shotel is a weird sickle shaped sword from eithiopia, it's weird shape allowed it to strike around a sword and made it more difficult to block the weapon.

The kusugama (spelling) was a sickle with a chain (weighted at the end) attached to the base, the chain was meant to entangle a sword or person, a person wielding one of these very nearly killed one of the best swordsman of all time
