Official Off Topic Discussion Thread #1

Umm because it's a human being not a material possession. I thought this should be common sense to everyone

I think your getting utilitarianism confused with the evil s word. Not only are you talking about something unethical but now you want a governing entity comprised of people no more virtuous than those in this thread to tell someone what to do with their body.

I really hope your trolling and don't truly think like this.

Imagine the unplanned pregnancies and Soo true very unethical.

1) your not understanding. Not prosecuteing doesnt make the sale legal. Selling weed or being caught with large quantities will still be prosecuted..

You are definitely right on this one. As long as it remains illegal it must be prosecuted, for the sake of law and order.

It is not exactly a clean business now. Maybe a car sales isn't a good comparison, but why would it be different from a cabby? A service is being provided. The gov't should regulate safety, because who else will? If you say that they screwed up medical care, fine, but who cares if they screw up whoring? Cigarettes, among other things, are considered unethical today, yet they are legally sold by good, honest people, and have reasonable quality control.

No, I am not trolling. I really do think like this, and will continue to do so until someone fixes me. :p

Edit: I can't separate @PYRU 's quote for some reason, so it is included in the 2nd one from Jaws.

Legalized prostitution could also make it more accessible to younger people and even minors where as it being illegal it's harder to "get".

NYC was a dump on the 80's. Whores and drug dealers all over the place. Rudy cleaned it up and guess what it increased tourism, which helped the nyc economy
