I assume politicians pay good money for publicists, marketing and media advisors but they still somehow find a way to make themselves look so foolish and undignified.

really though, in the current scheme of things we are lucky really that our biggest political story is our dopey PM nearly blinded himself with an arc welder.

I suppose a bit of harmless tomfoolery is ok once in a while. Larking around today......fingers on the button tomorrow, all part of the job, lol.

I read a report that gas has reached five dollars a gallon in some places in California.Holy Mackerel!

We're at £1.70 per litre in some parts, and it's rising. A quick conversion equates to us paying around nine dollars per gallon!!!

This is only the start. Petrol, diesel, natural gas and electricity are going to be simply unaffordable for some families soon.

It is very very scary.

Yeah, crazy, and with all those buttons he has at his disposal, very unnerving.

The US and the UK need to send in crack seal teams to dust his arse before things get really scary. But the NATO situation that the Ukraine find themselves in, or lack of, means nobody can do diddly squat, other than send them weapons and aid. Allied boots on the ground just can't happen, currently.

From our perspective it's just as well they aren't a NATO member, because if they were then WW3 would be inevitable.

But then again, would Putin have invaded if they had have been a NATO member, and then suffer the consequences.

You just can't call it with Putin. He's seriously unhinged, and the second most powerful guy on the planet. Scary times.

He’s not really unhinged, he spent months trying to negotiate with the US to get a guarantee that Ukraine wouldn’t be allowed in NATO and our government just told him no and used the time to send the Ukrainians a whole bunch of weapons. Perhaps the unhinged part was him thinking that the US government would ever engage in good faith negotiations with anyone or that they would ever honor any deal made. The entire history of US foreign policy since the end of the cold war shows that that is a fantasy.

Yes it is.....very scary.I heat my home with oil and thank goodness we have had a relatively mild winter and it is coming to it's end.

In my view the whole NATO thing as it concerns Putin seems like a bunch of BS to me,in this day and age.He is the powerful dictator in that part of the world and to my knowledge no one else over there seeks to attack or take over other countries so,what's his concern with who is or isn't in that group?
Those countries seem to want nothing more than to be left alone and I don't see any of them looking to invade each other or Russia anytime soon....seems to me Putin uses the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO as an excuse well, one of a few excuses to take them over.

During all this covid thing reports have said that Putin is absolutely paranoid about catching it. He sits at one end of a very long table when in meetings, he won't go near people. People reckon he has underlying health issues which have made him like this. Health issues that maybe have him wrestling with his own mortality.

Some people reckon he wants to make a huge huge statement which will go down forever in the history of his country. He wants the old Soviet Union back. If he is successful in claiming back Ukraine, with the expected lack of opposition, then that'll give him confidence to claim other old Soviet Union countries back.

The west are simply too scared to act because WW3 will definitely start. I think the west are happier to keep casualties in the Ukraine to a few hundred thousand/ a couple of million, than have several hundred million dead worldwide as a result of WW3.
