To be honest, i don't recall what the thread was about but it was the reason I was given for the thread to be closed. Its one of the topics that's not enforced upon a broad spectrum and varies by mods (in my opinion).

One person said that. far from universally considered as such.

The term was started amongst that population, between themselves, not by outsiders. IMO only a spineless fool could be beech-slapped into a guilt trip that we are socially defective if using their own term "in general".
If an individual doesn't prefer it, fine.
but he-she can stuff what their opinion is of the rest of how I live/talk/behave. Just as demanded of me.
