Hi it's been over a month since I was on. It was because I was on vacation . Well here's an update on my pk flowerhorn he is starting to grow a kok on his head!

Cleaned up this thread, went from 850 posts down to 130. Kept all posts with pics relevant to the topic of the thread.
Does any one know how much these guys Actually cost if labelled Kamfa flowerhorns and is there a way to distinctively tell that they are for sure kamfa's.
That's a theoretical question,because they are labeled red tex.They do sell f.h. for 26.99,but they are larger.the r.t. sells for 6.99.Other than that ,price could vary a lot depending on size,qualty,and seller.....i'm more familiar w/diff kinds of f.h.,but I believe it has traits of Synspilum,and whatever else....umm,Chris?

spartacus - yeah they are kamfa which is mainly vieja fh the main breed here is syns. The petsmart people often times don't know what they are doing enough to identify the fish they are getting, and big farms like segrest know that they probably won't get reported by the employees at big corporations and they do bulk deals with the corporate heads of these retail chains, who never personally open the boxes at the stores. Large farms know this so they can sometimes be pretty careless about what they put in what bags, and in my experience the kinds of people places like petsmart employ (cough* teenagers *cough) usually don't know enough to identify stuff like this, especially since flowerhorns are a relativley new thing.
I got 2 of these kamfas and 1 zz as jack dempsies for $2 by pointing at the fish and asking "what is that?"
Carelessness and variable quality are of course one of the reasons that it is hard to make money as an independant retailer buying from places in FL
That got long but its a pet peeve of mine. Suffice to say i can't mention where or when but I have worked on levels of this supply chain in the past and witnessed what I mention.
