1. The problem is, what if they do. A leaking 1,000G pond doesn't sound like a very pleasant problem.

2. They've bit the wiring AND the flexible tubing of the pump in the tank, I'm sure they're gonna continue with their past time if I transfer them to the pond.

3&4. If I stuff them full and they become full. The moment I throw in other foods, they will continue to eat them and spit it out, very much like our country's President, she's very "full". Pacus are messy eaters and the more full they are the messier they eat. They eat like

Really, in the picture, the ID shark doesn't seem a bit humped to you? Like his spine is forming like a slight rainbow shape?

 Thanks for the great story! I guess those bass are like the RTC of the cichlid family. How did it taste, very fresh right? hehe

Okay okay. will post some pix of the transfer of the gray gourami to the pond later.
Hey if they're biting the tubing & wiring. They won't bite the liner, trust me they won't. Find a way to protect the wires a little bit better & feed them a shrimp one by one in pieces till they stop feeding.

Dude, your not getting the point. The OP doesn't like pacus. Why force him to when what your saying is pointless btw, just because yours don't doesn't mean his won't. He's already said his chew wires and that they keep eating even when full. To the poster of this thread: nice pond and I suggest getting peacock bass to add to your collection.

I wasn't able to finish my statement, it should have read:

"...very much like our country's President and her husband, they're very 'full' yet never know when to stop 'eating'". :irked:

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Pacus. Unfortunately, I love to hate them too at times. So, it's a love-hate relationship.

I think as fish owners, we get entertained by pets with voracious appetites because feeding them is quite entertaining, but gosh, having to deal with that kind of an appetite day and day out...that's another matter. That also affects the health of the other fish you're keeping, but to his credit: Lambrakopoulos seems to be doing well with 3 RBP's in his pond and a host of other fish. It really boils down to the personalities of the fish that we get I guess.

Yea I am getting the point, so just be quite. You don't get the point so far i've been right play by play on what his pacu's have been doing. If anything ask him yourself. I've had pacu's in the hundred's before ok, at one point I had about 100 to 120 Red Belly Pacu's not all adults, but a good number were. Pacu are possibly one of the easiest fish to take care of as long as you watch exactly what your doing, other wise they'll find a way to get on your nerve's. I bet you that if MeAko can take those steps & precautions, everything will turn out for the best. AND END UP HAVING THE BIGGEST SOFT SPOT FOR PACU. Of course some fish will get on your nerve's, but you work through it & make it happen. I've said it many times before & i'll say it again "Monster Fish Keepers is all about being able to handle the MONSTER IN YOUR TANK, POND, OR POOL, it's all about pushing it to the limits" I never knew that giving up was an option. I HATE PEOPLE THAT SAY I CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THIS FISH IT'S TO MUCH TROUBLE. That's a load of bull, because you wouldn't have bought it in the first place if you thought you couldn't have taken care of it. Millions of fish are recued each year, because someone gave up on it & quit taken care of it. I have fish that I hate more than anything, BUT I STICK WITH IT TILL THE VERY END & TAKE CARE OF IT AS IF IT WAS MY FAVORITE.
NO EXCUSES

Quit hacking the thread and leave it alone. Agree to disagree and quit being debie downers. You're using this thread to argue over pointless things. Let the man make his own decisions on what HE stocks in HIS pond. That being said:

I just read this from start to finish and it's amazing. Can't wait for the next pic update and a full pond shot when you're ready for it.

lol....that sucks. It must break that other guy's heart to see a pacu dead....Since he seems to be the Pacu whisperer.
