I think your the first person I've seen to actually do it.
Funny my 9 year old was aghast that I did it and refused to taste it. I gave him a small piece and promised that he'll like it. He took one bite and immediately demanded more

Few things taste better than a freshly grilled bully! :naughty:

Oh and yes, the Gouramis and the Pacus will have their day in the pond, just power feeding them in the grow out tanks, because I wouldn't want to powerfeed in the pond and mess it up, seems hard to clean...

And be careful with the PACU, because I also have 3 RB Pacus about 12- 15 inchs & they are always in the mood to eat so you might want to feed them often, because mine kill one of my peacock bass because they were hungry they'll gang up on a fish & pick on it till they get the job done.
Man, I wished I had taken your heads-up to heart.

I was gonna go out of the country and had left instructions with the driver to pick up two foot long Giant Gouramis from these sellers, so I brought out the Chinese Hi Fin Banded Shark from the tank and housed it with the Pacu's because I didn't want the the Hi Fin to be with Gouramis knowing how potentially aggressive they can be. When I got back however, the maids told me the Hi Fin had died with his whole tail amputated by the Pacus. I guess they're not the Piranhas cousins for nothin'...:irked:

I told you man, they'll try to take a bite the see what happens, if it's an easy prey source they'll jump right on it.

And you'll have to keep an eye out if you put them in the pond with the Gourami's because Gourami's have those long feelers that will be an easy bite for the pacu, you can house them together but just keep an eye out.

Now we know why your wife is so ok with that big pond in the house.

Fresh fish!

I've done that with my bass. From pond to grill. Rooster tail to spatula. Slap to chomp. Hmmmm good.

Man, your words are turning out to be prophetic Lambrakopoulos...noticed this morning that one of the gray GG's "feelers" is significantly shorter than the other one! The Pacus looked every bit as guilty as sin! :irked:

I guess that's the reason why the Pacus are getting beat up by the Gray GG, because they nipped first!!

hehe.

Actually my wife didn't want anything to do with it. She goes, "I don't want to eat that, you feed it disgusting pellets and stuff..." and I'm like..."what in the world do you think they feed these fish in the commercial ponds?! Steak?!"

Women. :screwy:

apart from my foot long Pacu having a go at my middle finger, I'm doing okay. I would describe the pain as *pretty* close to a finger getting caught in a car door. You know the pain you feel that you see all white?!

And I wasn't even trying to hand feed it, I was trying to hand feed the 1-eyed TSN tankmate they have, they came in and were trying to steel the beef heart. BH makes them crazy even if I try to keep veggies as their staple. Pacus are crazy fish, everyone BEWARE!

I am *this* close to having fresh Pacus for lunch...argh!
