Parachromis dovii, the guapote, rainbow bass, or wolf cichlid at Fish Story

Interesting (fluke?) story from our peer Cooper'sCichlids, taken from YT:
CC: Question, how big inches is that dovi please?
TBTB: IDK exactly, haven't put tape on it. Eyeballing looks about or at least 20 inches tip to tip.
CC: nice mine was 19" when I lost him 5 years old
TBTB: Do you know why?
CC: yes he knocked all the filtration off, then he had like 2 dents in his head, musta ram the rocks in the tank the female has hole in the head she's doing fine now
TBTB: Wow. Was this a fluke or does itnhappen to dovii, and if it does, what are the usual reasons?
CC: this was a fluke 14 days I was in the hospital wifey face time me on the 12 day and I noticed something wrong he wasn't a tank buster I was still hand cleaning the tank, no filtration for udk how long and for 5 years we saw each other daily
TBTB: Thank you for sharing this. So this was a fluke and due to his tank losing filtration which made him go berserk. His response is kind of unexpected to me, I mean for a fish slowly getting poisoned by its own waste. And his female was with him but kept her head level and got away with only HITH, right?
