It all depends on what you like. Seen as the all the pictures are from BME, it's what they're into. Some people pierce their dog's ears, others pierce their hamster's ears, others, well, pierce their fish.
They also had pictures of a tattooed dog on there

Like I said at start of this thread I'm against it. But people are gonna do what their gonna do!people are mean people are evil!it no different than the food on my plate or fishes bellies, to the hog factories, chicken farms, to the fish I YOUR tank n MINE too! Everyones tanks are too small for our fish I don't care what size even the 50,000 gallon is nothing your our fishes real environments.is putn a ring really any worse? I'm not saying here but just think of all the people that don't even know how to properly care for a fish! Love it or hate it! Its still gonna happen!n just cause YOUR fish(mine too)don't have lip rings or piercings don't make you any better than them!we're all cruel for even having them period!BUT is the wild any less cruel? NO its worse!its a cruel world out there! Swim with that for awhile!

I saw that on youtube, yeah cruel and all but is it really any different than when someone goes fishing and hooks a fish, and on this site fishing is not frowned on, there is even a forum for it, but when some guy decides to give his fish a lip ring it's one of the most cruel and disgusting things in the world. Not saying I do or do not support it, I'm just sayin.......
I agree, that's exactly what I was thinking when I first read the OP. I like fishing, but I think it is just stupid to peirce aquarium fish. Maybe in the future they will start putting spears through aquarium fish :screwy:.

Um, yeah I'm pretty sure stabbing holes through a fish is just a little bit worse than putting a fish (that can't even comprehend the amount of space it would have in the wild) into a tank that is large enough for it to comfortably (often much more comfortably than in the wild) live out its life.

Well I know my fish have it better here than in wild! They eat like kings n I know the water Quility is better too!I don't know anyone that does this or I'd hound em to remove that crap but in the end its their fish! Is a piercing in a fish that's in a big tank n clean fresh water any worse off than a non-pierced fish in a tiny dirty tank???

y?
because u think its so horrible and evil?

Here's my opinion...

This debate is all about where to draw the line. Piercing a fish certainly isn't as bad for it as fishing, but being as we approve of that, are we being hypocritical when we say no?

Personally, I'm all for survival fishing. It's completely natural, being as a man's gotta eat. On the other hand, I'm totally against sport fishing. Sure, it does bring attention to aquatic conservation, but don't public aquariums do that? In addition, it can't really help that much: hunting for sport does nothing for zoology, as native animals (and fish) are not perceived to require much protection.

With that in mind, I am against piercing fish. Not only does it take away from the natural beauty--the metal itself is incredibly distracting--but it gives the fish pain, or at least an uncomfortable pressure point. (In my opinion, different fish have different levels of pain competency, but that's irrelevant.)
