Will peace lilies and nephthytis filter my tank??? Ive add pothos to my 3 smaller tanks and it has been taking away nitrates fairly quickly and now I have added nephthytis to a 40g breeder and peace lilies to my 38...

lilies work, see 1st page 1st post. I also have them. The nephthytis look like the arrowheads I have. If so they grow insane, see my pics above of them taking over.

Cool thanks bro...I put pothos in my 3 20 gallons last week and already see a difference in nitrates, I hope the lilies and nephthytis do the same...

well i juat got done reading through this thread over a couple of nights and i have to say it's awesome! currently i hav a ton of plants in my 75g and 20g and have always thought they helped with water quality. so far i've used lucky bamboo, peace plants, tiger lotus, sweet potatoe, and umrella plant, which i havent seen on this whole thread. here's a picture of what it looks like.

how about hibiscus?

my 4x2 container is getting out of control. arrowheads are blocking out alot of my plants. Was thinking to try and find a "bush" like plant so I could remove alot of my arrowheads and transfer them to the turtle tank but replace them with another plant. If not hibiscus, recommend any other "bush" plant?

I also made the mistake of putting mint in with the MH light. Light is about 3' above and they are just about to touch the bulb.
