Wow, just reread this whole thread - and once again it was AWESOME!!!! Wife and I just moved into our house about 2 months ago and I am itching to get one of my tanks set up, but I guess getting things put away comes first (at least that's what the wife says :wall:).

Well, last night my wife mentioned that it would be really nice to add on a room to the house (in the FUTURE), and I quickly added, "well we could add another little room off that which could be my fish room." I sold the idea by saying I would leave enough room for an air mattress, so it could serve as a bedroom when family visits (yeah right!!). So now we are talking money and going to get some quotes in the next few weeks to see if this "dream" is even possible. If we can afford it there are a number of other factors to take into account, but it still wouldn't occur for at least 1-2 years. Still exciting to think about though!

How does this all relate to "Plant only filtration?" Well, I plan on doing one of the following: wet/dry plant filtration under each tank, a single system with one large plant filter, or vermiponics (peaks my interest the most!!).

I always have live aquatic plants in my tank. I have a friend who all his tanks are plant filters... Aquatic plant... not ALOT of fish and limited feeding but tanks look great.

I like it because it cuts my water changes down big time !

Took a piece of hibiscus and snapped it off and plopped it in the tank a month or so back. Apparently it likes the water because it produced a bud then fowered...... Waiting on roots to shoot out still, I think I see a 1cm shoot comming out.

Hibiscus eh....?
Now that is cool.
I love my pothos plants for filtration but I would really like a plant that would bloom.

I agree on both counts, great thread JK. Gotta see more examples so I can keep compiling info and set up ideas for when I try adding plants.
