Naw, not me...I've seen pics of this fishes big brother, was 18" when it went home with Boreek...mine was only ~14" at the time. Pics should be around here somewhere.

Rich has a vid of a big black on you tube right now...he doesn't say how big it is but it looks fairly big...Mine and Boreek's both came from Rich.

A couple of years ago there was some talk that there were some 30" blacks in Japan but I could never find pics...maybe turned out to be a different species? some kind of aimara variant? I really don't know how big they get, just going to keep growing mine and see

black wolves are pretty nice.

I agree. I now have an aimara but I am still impressed every time I see my black. It's the bulk, even at 13" it looks massive.

can aimara be kept in a 45"x45" tank?

I'd say width ok, but the fish is capable of getting up to and well over 36". I suppose it could just spin on it's axis Otherwise, you're probably looking at a 9'/10' long x4' wide tank at a bare minimum for a fully grown aimara.

For reference, the monster Aimara posted in the media section (somewhere below this thread...) i believe is in a 600g tank or is about to be upgraded to a 600g tank.

how long would it take for a 6" aimara to out grow the 45"x45" tank?

Thanks man, agree, blacks are stocky fish, part of the appeal for me.
