ive heard the xingu black wolves are like erythrinus erythrinus in terms of activity.
yeah bro, he swims around from one side of the tank to the other, hovers, does it again, chills for a few, re-arranges the plants and commences to swimming again. only thing is he hides when i come near the tank and has yet to eat.

dont worry.
it could take him a month to get used to you or even start eating.
what i would do is just drop food in AND WATCH.
if he doesnt eat take the food out.
dont leave food for him and walk away.
he will GET USED TO YOU FASTER if you just let him starve.

I know you guys are posting pics of your awesome wolf fish... I just wanted to see if anyone had any that they would like to sell. I would perfer either a black or a common wolf. I would be open, but would like to get them around 7" or so.

I have a question too. I have a 220 and would like to put as many as i can in there, along with a few tank mates if possible. However I have read several places that either that either one will kill everyone else and there is no point to having more than one. or that they can and will co-habitate with others. and if they can and will then how many would you guys recommend on putting in a 220.

Thanks for all your help.

And as you can tell I am new to MFK and I think this forum rocks. I have had tanks for over 12 years. mainly cichlids, piranhas, and a few others before.

You can only do one w/ no tank mates unless you are talking a huge tank 500+gals and even then it might not work...... also it is best to start your own thread.

SO NOT TRUE...
have proof? I have just read about it working for a while and then poof only one wolf or only wolf left in the tank...

and that is for the black or common wolf which is what he asked about not red fin or high fin or what ever the smaller wolves are...
