Might as well start research now.

With the exception of L114, i manage to get my hands on the others - not yet delivered (not for a month). From Sticky and Planetcatfish it seems like there is nothing special to these plecs (shrimp, pellets, fallen food + occasional veg). Any pleco expert can confirm that?

In addition, do i need to have any wood for them to munch on? Cos some plecs do require that. I hope not, cos i do not want drift wood in my set-up. I intend on bare tank (tinted on all sides except front)

Also, are these plecos good cleaners of algae? What about territoriality (if such a thing exist with plec).

the expected habitat is 8x3x2 (3' is width). Is it compulsory to have hiding places? the location of the tank is not well lit anyway. no light are going to be turned on except during viewing and photo taking.

As these plecs were not so cheap i wanna make sure they live for LONG time.

thanks in advance guys

PS: no they will not be the sole inhabitants of the tank ... rather bottom ruling ones. The top is for real monsters ^^ (more on that soon)

As for as their diet you are correct. Protein is the primary preferred diet with Veggies as a balance.
Wood is not a necessity (as for as eating) but they do prefer it to rockwork, and hiding places are preferred.
They can be territorial towards other nocturnal species. So if you wake up in the morning and see some damage the likely culprit will be one of the other plecos.
Not good algae eaters as their preferred diet would suggest.

What size are they and do you just have singles of each species?
Here is a link to the Pseudacanthicus species. It will give you some general info.
These are my preferred species of plecos and Nice pickup.

PICS are required for all new Pickups!

1st Pic is 600
4th Pic is 114

Thanks for the info. I will be posting pix of them and other pick-ups for sure. Expected arrival time is end of november. L114 is still pending =(

which specie of pleco is pretty AND a good algae eater?

Hmmm, have to think about hiding place business ...it would mean putting something in my aquarium bottom (... not something i wish, but perhaps necessary)

there will be no other species in the aquarium except for aros - who are surface dwellers

the order is ready except for L-114 ... having difficulty getting my paws on that one. I am waiting until end of NOV, then i am shipping with or without L-114

Thanks for the confirmation on the wood thing ... in the shop L-600, it was sucking on driftwood - which is why i asked a question ... everytime i put wood in my tank before the water turned funny color ... plus it is an obstruction for faster moving fish.

OK, so how about the hiding places??? is that a must or preferable? Note i do not intend to use light regularly so most of the time quite dark. I am loathe to add something at the bottom for them to hide in - spoils the look of bare bottom

The color change in the water is from the tannins leaching out of the wood. Some peeps
like the look that it creates.
As long as the lights aren't on very long I don't think it will be an issue. But if you do add something then you will have to add some thing for each or they are gonna fight over it for territory. Do you know what size they are, as the larger they are the more territorial they can be.

L-600 is 9", L24 and 25 are 4" . I know 9" is quite a difference (i might have to grow out the 24 and 25 first)
