Is that green wood (pressure treated) if it leeches to water all your fish will die that wood is full of poison. If not that tank will be bad as*
For the treated timber to leech into the tank the pond shield coating would have to fail, and I am fairly sure I'd notice that before any leeching happened..

Hi,
I'm new in joining but have been lurking for a while.
I really like this tank for one reason....you are stocking with juveniles....in this way you will get many years of pleasure seeing the fish grow to their full size.
Many of the "blogs" here you see people stocking with "monsters" (no issue with people upgrading!!!) that they have just bought and I believe that is a pissing contest.
Kind regards,
KarelM
PS I am from South Africa....and it is a good thing you have a nice tank to watch...as you dont want to watch the rugby on the TV whilst we kick your butts in the Tri-Nations! ;-)))

I was too busy looking for a S.African football/baseball/MMA/luge team (choose one) that wasn't getting their butts kicked...:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Welcome to MFK!

Thanks :)

PS I'm not a big rugby fan so it's ok for S A to kick a bit of butt,

I will be sorting out the filter this weekend, I forgot to grab some foam for under the trickle tank. I got the glass from a mates LFS cut to size and I glued it up last weekend.

Oh and I need batteries for my camera :(
Looking forward to updates :)

Here you go

I have some dacron filter wool sheets, ceramic bio media & rolls of plastic gutter guard as bio media.

I am thinking of putting in two towers of the 4 draw units, tee the inlet to the 2 towers and then running a second pump and putting the outlet to the other end of the tank.

Thank you for these :)

I agree with the idea of having 2 towers... that should increase your filtering capacity and aeration :)

And you also want to have to outlets? Hmm... that should create more current inside your tank...
