This thing really turned out nice looking:headbang2 I was going to start saving for a 600+ gallon acrylic tank, but for the amount of $$$ it would cost I could build a much bigger plywood tank. I am curious though as to how long the pond armor is rated for? In other words will it need to be recoated in 8 years or so?

Thanks for the response! I've been in touch with Butch and hes let me know the costs for shipping etc already. I intend to build a 12x4x3, its been in the planning stages for about a year now which has changed a lot but I've finally decided on a way to go. Due to the fact it has to fit an exact space (slightly over 12Lx4W) I'm looking at using steel tubing rather than wood as reinforcement to maximise actual tank space.

Awsome Tank Btw!!! Its given me a lot of help and inspiration for mine.
Thanks no probs look forward to seeing your progress :)

I'm not sure, I didn't even think to ask Butch from Pond Armour about that I hope it's way more than 8 years. I'll have to ask him.

I stopped adding up the receipt's at $4000 AUD. But that does include everything filtration, deco, lighting and all fish that I didn't already have.

I must be :screwy:

But I'm sure there are people here who have spent way more.... and I'm sure way less :ROFL:

Oh-Oh...INDYstyle wheels are turning again...I bet we see another 1000gal soon.
I've already picked out a spot for it. Working on the logistics and the timing. Probably won't be for a while though. I have a basement to finish and a fish room to build.

Good catch though!

noiesmo, how did you determine the structual design(2x4's and plywood) of the tank? If there is a formula, can you please share with us? Thanks:popcorn:
