I believe the last pc is a Kamihata pbb. That's the quality we are getting in Singapore and it cost abt 1/3 to double more then it's wc counter parts.

Recently a cheaper batch was floating ard the market. But those were believed to have been from an endorsed indo breeder breeding for Kamihata. Kicker is even those were more expensive then wc specimens.

If any of the F1s were to hit Singapore, I think it would cost 3 to 4 times more then a wc specimen.

IMO, the Indo PBB are junk.
They are going for ¥4800 here (about $50us) but even at that price I am not interested.
The fact that nearly all the big players here (big-in etc) are refusing to stock them for the "inside information" of them actually being a cross with Lapradei turns me right off.
The Lap/PBB cross happened a few years back (some old timers here might remember) and it caused the same confusion, and were of similar quality.

I sold off all my CB PBB, and the only time I would even consider buying another one is if the awesomeness that is Dory-K started selectively breeding them and added their intense patterns to them!

As nice as the color is, i'm disappointed in how it looks to be honest. At first glance I was thinking lapradei. It's lost that characteristic head shape and looks of the Pbb.

the only CB ones i'd consider is if it looks at least as good and as close to the pure Pbb form as this. i really wanted this guy. This one was from Kamihata's third breeding from few years back, before WC Chad ones began exported. Parents were from Turkana and Omo. My source said only their first breeding was from Turkana male/female, their subsequent breedings up till that point were from Turkana and Omo. And FYI Omo River empties into Lake Turkana.

Can't help but share my WC pbb chad

I used to own an indo pbb and have friends with kpbb. I have to say imo there is no comparison for either to a WC specimen.

With current prices there really isn't a point in buying CB pbbs.

Unlike black stingrays or arowanas where selective breeding results in nicer fishes, bichirs are mostly mass bred. WC will mostly look better.
very nice piece! looks like it's fattening up nicely since you first got it, good job!
