hey guys, i know their would be threads about this but i can't find any and this is the first place i thought i would get great advice.
I have a 4' long x 1.5' wide and 1.5' tall fish tank and i'm starting a planted fish tank, i got myself 9 angel fish last week and i'm just wondering what would be a good lighting fixture for it to be able to give the best light available for my plants. Preferably a t5 fixture under 300 thanks in advance for any information

Here's my first planted tank it's a 55 gallon community with a variety of plants and fish. i have a sand substrate t8 lighting and am going to add CO2 soon to increase growth rate. so far it is going really well i havent lost a plant yet, the fish are happy, and im starting to get some good new growth after setting it up a month ago. I have swards, anubis, hornwort, java fern, and a few other i have to id still.

ok answer for the lighting question....one word....EBAY!!!!
topdogsellers got some super cheap t5ho fixtures, they are oddysea fixtures and are cheap, modifyable and work just fine.

you can get a quad bulb 4foot strip for easily, easily under 300, which includes your bulbs too!

thanks, my tank actually got a crack in it so im out of the fish keeping atm, looking for more 4 foot tank deals or i will just buy a new one :D

Instead of doing an aquarium specific search do a grow light search. They are much cheaper than aquarium lights and are better IMO. I picked up an 8bulb t5 with plant specific bulbs for less than 200....shipped
