Thanks! I think that will work great. From the pictures it looks grayish. I wanted to have the top layer of substrate black so I may still have to find something more for appearance sake. It is definantly more affordable then other options. Do you know how it does long term in tank? I've heard that Eco-Complete does hold up well.
 
well this is my 60 gallon planted tank i just started a week and a half ago. two 15 watt bulbs no co2. everyone says this wont work but plants have been growing like crazy.

there no bigger than my fist.the plants in the first 2 pics are baby tears, phyllanthus sluitans (red root floater) and i will be adding HC. there are 3 cherry chrimp in there. the last pis is my betta tank wich just has a small tiawon lilly specamin. i dose 3 drops of florish per day and change the water every 3 days or so.

my 20g mess. i have an algea back round that looks pretty sweeet.

man you need more wattage you only have 1/2 wpg you need like 1.5 id say in the long run i dont think it will work

It depends on what plants you have. I have amazon swords, crypts, and other low light plants and they are doing great in my tank. My tank has just over 1/2 wpg.
