how do you clean the gravel with a planted tank?

Just siphon the top of the gravel around the plants, the plants will eat the rest. The rest of the gravel you can siphon normally.

i just bought a whole bunch of plants and im keeping them planted in a separate tank right now until i get the stuff to set up my 40 gallon so i can make a planted mini dat tank
