Very nice Gourami.
I like the lighting on the s/a tank. Gives a nice subdued atmosphere to the display.
Those pikes look impressive too.
Thanks stanz, the extra height of that 90 gallon helped with the lighting effect, also used a 36" fixture instead of 48 so lighting would be more dim

This is a tank in transition-- All Wild South American sp. except the African Riverine tetras that some how snuck in here (They will be moving to there own tank set-up in coming year!). Right now it is too "stylized" for my liking.
I am working on the substrate, transitioning it over to more leaves, pods, etc...
But, cannot completely lose the sand because have geophagus in here.
To make the substrate more natural Ive ordered some oak leaves, Artocarpus Leaves ( these are amazing looking!) a substrate enhancement media called ""Fundo Tropical" Natural Substrate Enhancement Media from Tannin Aquatics.
I will also be doing something more natural with background- I know black is the "go to"- but I dont want to do this- so, will have to find something else. IMG_0004.JPG

Looks really good already. Getting a good looking back ground I think is very hard, what are you thinking about doing with it.

Im thinking of first trying a darker background behind window film. I like the texture the window film gives, but the color, not so much.

Beautiful tank.
Those sveni are really looking good.
Great tank and will look even better with your leaves and substrate litter added.
I always fancy some geos when I look at your tank.
